HOW TO ENTER

The Nomination Process
The university invites nominations from throughout the world by individuals, professional associations, university presidents and administrators, and publishers or editors of journals and books in psychology.

To make a nomination, the nominator must submit the following:

  • A one or two page letter in English identifying the specific idea being nominated, the author(s) of the idea, and why the idea merits the award.
  • A current mailing address, telephone number, fax number and e-mail address for the nominee(s).

Nominees will be sent a nominee form that explains the award conditions, including the fact that all materials submitted will become the property of the University of Louisville.

Each nominee then must submit the following support materials:

  • A signed copy of the nominee form
  • Three copies of the relevant publications, presentations, or other documents (all in English).
  • Three copies of the nominee's curriculum vitae (in English).

Deadline
To be considered for the 2009 award, the nomination letter must be received by February 18, 2008. Nominations may be submitted by regular mail, fax, or e-mail to the address listed below. All supporting materials for the nomination (including the signed nominee form, three copies of the work, and three copies of the nominee's curriculum vitae) must be received by April 7, 2008.

Review Process
The Grawemeyer Award Committee of the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences will review the submissions and select 8 to 12 ideas for further consideration. These submissions will be forwarded to an External Psychology Panel who will select three submissions to be recommended to the University of Louisville Grawemeyer Award Committee. This latter committee will identify the award winner. Upon recommendation by the President of the University, the Board of Trustees of the University will grant the award.
